The other day I was reading an old Newsweek magazine and came across some poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the government, president and congress alike. In essence 2/3s of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. I have this gnawing feeling that come January 20, everything everybody wants will be granted them by virtue of their votes, and as of the last Congressional election everything seems to be rolling in that direction. Everything except change that is.
None the less, being the moderate I am, I have a positive attitude, and see change on the horizon. To be sure, a Democrat will emerge the winner and bring forth upon this continent the taxes and programs that will define our economic future for a term not limited to four years. Hmm, let's see now, where did I put my crystal ball?
